Frequently asked questions
of the
Retreat
Manager sales and support staff:
-
Do we need a network and a server ?
Yes, because
Retreat
Manager's efficiency is based on a division of labor, a
network with a central server is necessary. If you don't currently meet
these requirements, we will provide it.
-
We do not have a staff computer
person - how can we meet your requirements? All of these
issues will be handled by the
Retreat
Manager installation and training group.
-
How much training is involved?
Quite a bit. But, we will be with you every step of the way. We
simple will not hand you a CD and leave you on your own.
-
How much data can be stored in the system?
As much as you want. However, current clients review only
about 3-4 years into the past and plan about 5-6 year into future.
So about 10 years of data is reasonable for most people to think about.
-
What does Retreat Manager not do?
It is not an accounting system (there are no accounts payable or payroll
functions), these must be handled separately.
Retreat
Manager does manage deposits, charges, invoicing, and payments --
Retreat
Manager was designed primarily for the operational management of your facility and your
guests.
-
Is Retreat Manager only for
Spiritual Retreat Centers? Yes. But it was
specifically designed for the newer retreat centers that have hotel-type guest rooms that plan events like a convention center and have
kitchen facilities that serve the basic 3 meals a day to their guests.
-
Why not use a cheaper hotel system?
You can, but they generally do not handle the 3 basic retreat center functions
in a singular system - guest rooms, meeting rooms, and kitchen services.
Additionally, a hotel system does not accommodate Day Guests, Spiritual
Directions, Retreat Leaders, Youths, Commuters, In-house Event Planning, and
other Retreat Center specific issues very well.
-
Does a
'donation-based' environment work with Retreat Manager?
Yes, but then certain important estimating, invoicing, and tracking features
become meaningless.
Retreat Manager is based on the business logic of several prominent
Spiritual Retreat Centers.
